  1. Pivotal Tracker email integration is now two way

A few months ago we launched support so you can email your bugs/features/chores to a tgethr group and we’ll do the work in making sure they create stories in your Pivotal Tracker project

We’ve now made the integration 2 way.

So when someone creates a story directly in Pivotal Tracker or when someone comments on a story there, those stories/comments get blasted out to the people in your tgethr group so you can use the tgethr email system to collaborate.

This way you can pick your poison.

    Here’s how it works.

    1) If you aren’t using tgethr+Pivotal yet, start by adding the Pivotal service to your tgethr group just like before. Follow this blog post on the details.  Also note, that the first name and last name of the people in your tgethr group need to match the first and last name of people making activity in your Pivotal Tracker project.

    2) Next, go to the services you have for your tgethr group. If you have more than one group, use the group menu to click into your group.

Click the edit your group link.

And then click the services link.

You’ll see your Pivotal Tracker service in the list. You’ll also now see it has a “Activity Hook Url:

That’s the URL you’ll give to Pivtol to let them know to contact us whenever there’s activity from your Pivotal project.

Copy that URL and now let’s head over to Pivotal.

    3) In Pivotal, go to the settings of the project you want this integration to happen with. You’ll see a menu like:

    Click the “Integrations” tab.

    4) Find the “Activity Web Hook” section, and paste the URL from tgethr as your “Web Hook URL”. Leave the version API Version as “v3” and save the web hook.

    ——————-

We are done setting it up, and it should just begin working. Any new stories that get made in Pivotal natively will be sent out to your group. And replies from those tgethr emails will sync themselves back over to Pivotal. And all vice versa.

Of course, thank you so much for using tgethr! We hope you find this as handy as we do for creating and collaborating on feature and bugs. Let us know if you have any trouble, and also let us know if you’d find tgethr a handy email collaboration tool to add to any other services you use.

Email is still the most prominent form of communication we have. Do you really need that fancy collaboration tool or do you just need to get tgethr?
